SkimBC’s Brandon Wright brings the Banshee Bungee to Victoria, BC for the first time.

An excerpt from BansheeBungee.com explains the bungee:

“These big, tough bungees are designed for one purpose: hucking willing human beings across their surface of choice, be it asphalt, concrete, rails, snow, ocean spray or river current. The promise of easy speed seduces surfers, skimmers, skaters, longboarders, urban jibbers, skiers, snowboarders and riverboarders alike into a torrid affair with the lithe black beauties. In a post-adrenaline haze, the smitten cast aside boats, ramps, lift tickets and other yesteryear propulsion devices like last weekend’s post-kegger hookup.

Just like their devotees, Banshee Bungees love a little abuse. With three strands of vulcanized rubber providing their tough demeanor, the bungees are ready for just about anything. Drown them in saltwater, freeze them in Minnesota, drag them around the concrete jungle: they’ll still spit a speed freak out at 35 miles per hour, for hundreds of feet – launch after launch.”

The bungee system was brought out to Port Renfrew for some wave action and to Gonzo in Victoria for some flatland action. They always say a picture is worth a thousand words, so ch-ch-check it out!

I’ve seen some video of the bungee being used with skateboards and snowboards… There’s no way you’d ever see me use it on the street, hah, but the snow looks pretty slick!

I remember the original Skim Launch System I used on White Rock BC’s East Beach a few summers back….that was a fantastic unit…amazing speed….crazy fast whip; even to the Banshee….was 40-50Km’s and a few hundred yards was demonstrated…It was pretty awesome….I don’t think they went to full retail, but they’re still around and available I’m told…but its all good….nice to see someone moving the concept mainstream for us….I also believe they still have an old video on U Tube but I think it was ahead of its time then….good work on Banshee for moving it forward !….this is a fabulous concept for all kinds of skim applications etc. … Well done guys !
Waiting for the big rail option to be executed …..
