I recently heard that there was some skimming to be done in Port Moody, Rocky Point specifically. Anyone know about this? Where is the spot?

I want to get my kids into skimboarding and went out and bought them boards. Kayotics. Anyway can anyone give us some pointers on things that we might need for the boards before we take them to the beach and where is a good beach in the Vancouver area that might have a fair amount of people they can watch and pic up some tips? I was told jerico.

Hey guys if you want a good place go to sartoga beach in black creek(outside courtenay)at about 12:00 to 2:00 in the afternoon its always amazing 80ft long pools that are like 2cm deep to 10-15cm deep pools for rails, really sweet place to pop triks and stuff.

the sunshine coast and lower mainland require significant wind for wave riding, being blocked from groundswell by vancouver island. Anything around 20 to 30+ knots and it'll be worthwhile to check the shores.
as for a board message jasper on here, he's likely got what you're looking for. Here is the marine forecast website, your new best friend, but they do f-up. http://www.weatheroffice.gc.ca/marine/region_e.html?mapID=03

Heh, I guess Skim Spots isnt the best place to post asking where to find a board. I found that Pacific sells Zed boards, but I have another question: Is there places in Vancouver/on the mainland to ride waves? Flatland is fun, but it's a hassle bringing a rail everywhere.

Where in Vancouver can I buy or rent a skimboard? I'm living in Alberta right now, but moving back right away. Pacific Boarder's website only mentions Surfboard and standup paddle board rentals, and nothing about skimboards at all.

Thanks for any and all help!

Hey,
I live in Vernon, B.C, and have very few places to skim. Anyone know of any other good spots in the Okanagan? My favorite lake spots elsewhere so far have been at McKenzie Lake in Calgary and Six-Mile Beach in Nelson.
