On January 1st 2011 Kayotics Skimboards’ official mascot Porter showcased his skimboarding skills to the world on the Rose Bowl parade’s Dick Van Patten Natural Balance float. Porter is a unique Jack Russel Terrier/skimboarding dog raised in Vancouver by his owner Justing Pang. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting and riding with Justin Pang and his pup Porter a few times now, albeit it was probably over 5 years ago now… Every time I met up with the two of them it was always quite the sight to see a dog charge after a skim and actually lock in all fours on a board to cruise the length of a tide pool in Boundary Bay!
I’m sure this isn’t the last we’ll see of Porter the skimboarding dog, especially being that he is Kayotics Skimboards official mascot!
