Winter-what?

23 February 2010 2 Comments

img_0179This past weekend Brennan Wolfe and myself (Brandon Wright) skimmed Mystic beach with Jesse “#1 SkimBC Fan” Gibson and Chris Davies as our super crazy photographers. We all climbed into my recently ruggedized Jeep at around 10am Sunday morning and cruised out to our semi-secret path down to Mystic! It was an exciting hike down with beautiful scenery and the unreal sound of waves crashing along the upcoming shoreline… When the four of us emerged from the bushes to have our first glimpse of the beach we all started to freak out – the waves were glassy and reachable! For most Californians that would be a normal sight, but for us after the 1.5hr drive and 20 min hike down to the beach we were stoked to see something ridable!

The session was sick, the beach was completely protected from any wind and the air temperature must have been at least 15 celcius… We had no need for wetsuit gloves or hoods, but we still felt a bit of a chill when our wetsuits filled with water of the pacific. Jesse was in the water shooting photos with his underwater cam and Chris took hold of Jesse’s brand new Canon digital SLR and snapped a ton of great shots. I’m not much of a writer, so I will sign off and let the pictures do the talking!

Awesome pics guys! I love Mystic beach, camp there all the time. Only brought my skim board down once as it’s a pain in the ass to carry with a 45lbs camping bag. Can’t wait to get down there this year to do some wave riding. But for now will have to enjoy the local flatland beaches.
